About Us

How It Works

Our website allows users to send files securely, without relying on a server. Since files are shared directly between users, we don’t have access to or control over them.

FAQ

How do I share files with P2P?

Drag your file onto the share page, copy the link that appears, and send it to your recipient. When they open the link, their browser connects directly to yours and the file streams straight across — no upload to any server, no account needed on either side.

What is WebRTC?

WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) is a technology built into every modern browser — it's what powers browser video calls. It lets two browsers negotiate a direct connection to each other, and once connected, files can flow across that channel without passing through a server.

Are my files safe?

Yes. Every transfer is encrypted end to end with DTLS 1.3, the modern standard for securing real-time connections. Because files travel directly between browsers, no server copy ever exists — there's nothing stored anywhere that could leak, be scanned, or be accessed later.

Is there really no file size limit?

Really. Size limits exist on other services because storing files costs money — but ZetaShare never stores anything, so there's nothing to cap. A 500 GB transfer works exactly like a 5 MB one; it just runs longer. The only practical limits are your internet speed and keeping both browser tabs open.

Do both of us need to be online at the same time?

Yes — that’s the trade-off of true P2P. The file streams live from your device to theirs, so both browser tabs must stay open until the transfer completes. In exchange, nothing is ever uploaded or stored, and there are no size limits or expiring links.

Do I need to install an app or create an account?

No installs, no accounts, ever. ZetaShare runs entirely in the browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iPhone. Your recipient just clicks your link — that’s their entire setup.

Can I password-protect a transfer?

Yes. When sharing a file you can set a password, so the link alone isn't enough to receive it. For sensitive files, we recommend sending the link and the password through two different channels — for example, the link by email and the password by text.

How fast are transfers?

Transfers run at the speed of the slower side's connection — there's no server bottleneck, no throttling, and no premium speed tier. Because the file makes one direct hop instead of an upload followed by a download, it's typically about twice as fast as traditional transfer services.
